Abi & Rob

Just discovered this delicious session in my drafts folder and no idea why I never shared their gorgeous photos! Abi and Rob had been planning their session for a while, but we kept getting postponed due to weather. But we were so glad we waited as the day we finally went for it, the light was glorious and we had so much fun. Rob had actually been dreading the session for ages as he hates being in front of the camera so I was relieved and thrilled to receive an email hours after the shoot from Abi saying how Rob had actually had fun!! Ok, not exactly his words, but he had been quite surprised by how bad it wasn't!! And as he was lying on the sofa that night, he commented on how he had no idea how tiring this modeling thing was which is hilarious - I guess I made them work!

The couple had loads of ideas for what to do and where to go for the shoot. They had previously had some photos that didn't truly capture them so they wanted to be sure they did it right this time. We finally decided on a combination of a boat and golf shoot. They both love to travel and Rob is a golfer extraordinaire! Abi, being the hip chick she is, refused to become a golf widow, so has taken up the sport herself and now they love playing together.

I think my willingness to hijack and bail out the perfect punt when we couldn't find the one we were meant to use was much appreciated. Not to mention the fact that I was working while sinking in quick sand slime the entire time and even lost a croc at one point (probably would not have been a bad thing - I have a friend who is appalled that I leave the house wearing them, but they really are so comfy for shoots!).

Abi and Rob met while he was in Bermuda on holiday in 2004 and fell madly in love. He was actually supposed to be in Florida but because of a hurricane down south, his flight was cancelled and he ended up stuck here on the island. Oddly enough, it turned out that Abi was friendly with Rob's best friend before they ever even met each other. Rob and Abi had a long distance relationship for four years before they were secretly married in Toronto in January of 2009. Three months later, Rob moved to Bermuda and they had a real wedding the summer of the next year and are living happily ever after.

The couple are both really into golf so it only made sense that the second part of their session would be on a golf course.

There is a private joke between the two with their Burt toy so they wanted to include him in a few shots too - how adorable!

Thank you Abi and Rob for such a gorgeous shoot - not sure why I never posted the pics in the first place so sorry about that but better late than never! xxx

Puppies!!!

These teddies puppies are the babies of our papa dog, Cairo. Can you believe how delicious they are? I mean, are they for real? I can vouch that they are indeed real since this is my sofa in our home on which they sit so angelically. I felt like a famous animal portrait photographer but my pup of choice was a Labradoodle instead of a Weimaraner. They are so totally delish, I had to control myself from begging to keep them all! They are eight weeks old and just so cute I could gobble them up in one go!!! Sorry for the ridiculously long post, but I simply could not edit these pics down so had to include them all!!!

Cairo was so gorgeous and gentle with them - this was the first time he had met them as I had take the kids to see them when they were as wee as guinea pics at their mama pup's house. Such a difference between then and now - real little personalities showing through.

Oslo and Indigo couldn't get enough of them. This was their first outing and at first, a couple of them were a little nervous, but the kids lavished them with love and soon enough, they were yelping for more!

After a little while, the puppies grew in confidence and soon enough, they were marching all around the garden and following their dad!

When Cairo was a puppy himself, he was red like the two on the ends. He faded a bit and also when we shave him in the summer, all that red disappears but comes back in the winter when we let him go wild and shaggy. I found some pics here and here and also here of what he was like when he was wee!

So clever Cairo is a papa and I guess that makes me a grandma!!! I believe there are a few gone but there may be one left so let me know and I can put you in touch!! xxx
